'Athena' is a distinctive early-blooming hybrid peony with elegant, single flowers featuring broad ivory-cream petals accented by dramatic raspberry-pink flares at their bases. A prominent center of golden-yellow stamens creates a beautiful contrast, giving the blooms a delicate, almost wildflower-like appearance. One of the first peonies to flower in spring, and oftentimes almost ready for Mother’s Day here at our farm, 'Athena' is a wonderful choice for extending the peony season and bringing something truly unusual to the garden.
