It’s not uncommon for variegated dahlias to revert back to a parent and “Red Mingus” is an example! Over the years of growing Mingus Toni, we found our plants throwing more solid red flowers. Usually we would throw away this tuber stock because of the genetic breakdown but we loved this flower! Red Mingus is a romantic true red with fluffy petals — a great way to add texture to dahlia bouquets.
